Gary D. Markowitz, MD

Dr. Markowitz is a pediatric ophthalmologist whose practice focus includes routine, medical and surgical eye care of simple and complicated eye problems in childhood including strabismus, amblyopia, lazy eye and tear duct abnormalities. Dr. Markowitz also performs adult eye muscle surgery to improve eye alignment of patients referred to him by their own eye doctor. He provides examinations to determine if children need eyeglasses. Most of his patients are referred to him by other health care providers; however, referrals are usually not necessary. In addition, he provides second opinions when requested. He has been involved in the teaching of medical students and resident physicians and has participated in national research projects studying children’s eye diseases since 1994.
