What is a Cosmetic or Dermal Filler?

Fillers are injectable materials used to increase tissue volume in particular areas of the face or skin. Currently available fillers are all biocompatible in that they are either normally found in the body or stimulate your body to produce new tissue. The most commonly used fillers include Hyaluronic Acid, Calcium Hydroxyappetite, and Poly-L-Lactic Acid.

How is the facial rejuvenation procedure performed?

A consultation with one of our physician’s will develop a plan for the facial areas that need to be treated. Once this is done, a series of injections are used to deliver the cosmetic filler to the facial area being treated.

Is there pain associated with the procedure?

Using a combination of skin cooling and topical numbing agents most injections can be delivered relatively painlessly. Many of the cosmetic fillers used by OcuSight contain lidocaine which numbs the skin at the injection site.

How long will the results produced by a Cosmetic Filler last?

Most Cosmetic Fillers provide temporary results since they are eventually absorbed by the body. Depending on the health of the skin, the facial area treated and type of filler use, most results last for a year or more.
