Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing procedures at OcuSight are used to improve the appearance of fine lines, deeper wrinkles, scars including those caused by acne, splotchy pigment changes related to aging, and generalized improvement of the texture and tone of the skin. Other conditions can be discussed during your consultation with your OcuSight provider.

Am I a good candidate for Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Patients with fine lines, wrinkles, scars from acne, irregular pigment, or poor texture and skin tone are generally good candidates. If you presently have acne or very dark skin you may not be a candidate. An OcuSight provider can provide more information.
How is the procedure performed?
An initial consultation is required to determine the areas to be treated and the types of laser that will be used. A combination of oral sedation and painkillers as well as topical and injectable anesthetics will be used to minimize discomfort and make the experience more enjoyable. Your OcuSight provider will then use the laser to apply fractioned carbon dioxide laser energy to the skin.
How does the procedure work?
The Ultrapulse laser works by ablating or destroying columns of skin in a fractionated way, meaning that the energy, depth, and amount of tissue treated can all be varied. Immediate tissue contracture leads to skin tightening noted in the first week, As both the surface and deeper tissues regenerate the skin texture, tone, color, and elasticity are all improved to provide a more youthful, refreshed, healthy appearance.
How long do the effects last?
The longevity of the effects are specific to the treatment. Light treatments provide fast predictable results with little downtime, but may not be able to treat deeper problems. Deeper treatments require more downtime but can generate significant results. All treatments should provide wonderful results that last more than a year, as long as the patient takes good care of their skin after the procedure.
Is Laser Skin Resurfacing affordable?
Since most insurance plans do not cover elective cosmetic surgery, OcuSight has plans to meet most budgets. Compared with surgical facial rejuvenation laser skin resurfacing provides an affordable alternative with minimal risk and shorter downtime.
