ReZoom™

What is ReZoom?
The ReZoom lens is a permanent artificial lens that is made of a soft plastic. It is folded and inserted into the eye through a tiny incision smaller than the optic diameter of the lens. After insertion, the lens gently unfolds to restore vision. The supporting arms of the lens maintain proper positioning within the eye.

Am I a candidate for ReZoom?
Anyone who has a normal eye exam and is dependent on reading glasses or bifocals may be a candidate. Although ReZoom lenses are initially approved for cataract patients with or without Presbyopia, it is not necessary to need cataract surgery to qualify for the ReZoom lens.

Is the ReZoom lens more effective than other IOLs?
ReZoom intraocular lens is a multifocal IOL that provides a range of vision that monfocals cannot match. This means greater independence from glasses than monofocal IOLs. ReZoom distributes light over five optic zones so that each lens has a distance-dominant central zone for distance vision in bright light conditions when the pupil is constricted.

How is this procedure performed?
This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis and usually takes a few hours. To avoid any discomfort, the eye is treated with anesthetic prior to the procedure. A tiny incision is made in the eye, allowing the surgeon to use a small instrument about the size of a pen tip, to break up or wash away the the eye's natural lens, which may be cloudy due to a cataract. Once the cataract or natural lens is removed, the ReZoom lens is inserted and set into it's permanent position.

What can I expect after the procedure?
Following the procedure, you'll rest for a short time before going home. To guard against infection and help your eye heal, you will be given a prescription for eye drops. To prevent you from rubbing your eye, for a few days you may need to wear a protective shield especially at night. Although everyone heals differently, most patients see well enough to return to most of their routine activities the day following their surgery.

How many patients are 100% glasses free after having this procedure?
The results are very good. After the ReZoom lenses are implanted, 93% of patients claim they can see distance and intermediate objects clearly and 81% say they can see near.
